Quality of Care - Quality Improvement Initiatives
PAC/LAC

PAC/LAC is one of 14 Title V funded Regional Perinatal Programs of California (RPPC), which are designed to assist the California State Department of Public Health, Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Program, in meeting their statewide perinatal goals.  As such, PAC/LAC works to meet the following goals specific to RPPC: (1) Promote an integrated perinatal regional system promoting high quality, risk appropriate care for pregnant women and high risk infants; and (2) Promote hospital-based, data-driven quality improvement projects.  In this function, PAC/LAC facilitates the coordination and support of perinatal quality improvement in the following ways:

  • Promoting seamless perinatal systems of care through information exchange and collaboration among services providers, facilities, health plans, as well as State and local MCAH programs
  • Collaborating with California Children’s Services (CCS) regarding the promotion of Regional Cooperation Agreements
  • Providing education in the implementation of the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC) and California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) to perinatal providers
  • Conducting annual site visits to each hospital within our region to review birth outcomes and to provide the most current Perinatal Profiles, Improved Perinatal Outcomes Report, CPQCC reports, Hospital Breastfeeding Rates, and other data as appropriate
  • Representing our region in regional and state task forces; and working with other perinatal regions and the state to respond to needs identified across the regions
