At PAC/LAC we believe that it is important not only to stay informed about public policy but also to help shape it. Throughout our history we have worked with healthcare providers and legislators to advocate on a variety of important issues in maternal, child and adolescent health, including birth defects research, the nursing shortage, child care, NICU provider staffing, length of maternity stay, contraceptive equity, and the California MCH budget. We are currently working with hospitals and healthcare providers to support efforts to ensure that all babies have consistent access to their mother’s breastmilk during hospital stays.
