PAC/LAC is a key player in public policy and legislative issues, to the extent that they impact the health of women, children, and families in California, as well as the ability of health care practitioners to provide quality of care.  We have well-established relationships with local and state representatives, through which we work to be a voice for the perinatal community.  Some of PAC/LAC’s activities in this arena include:

• Convening public policy forums
• Training health care providers on advocacy skills-building
• Communicating with legislators through letter writing, phone calls, and in-person visits to district and Capitol offices
• Participating in policy committees and taskforces
• Co-sponsoring and supporting relevant legislation
