Subject: UPDATE: Tissue Bank Licensing - SB 246
Hello
everyone,
We are
continuing to move forward with the NEW Senate Bill 246 (OLD Senate Bill
1785). As I last wrote, Senator Figueroa has agreed to gut and amend one
of her other bills to incorporate the human milk language. The bill text
has now been officially posted and is exactly the same as the most recently
amended SB 1785. The only difference is the bill number, and the fact
that two new co-authors have been added. The official co-authors now
include Senator Ortiz, Assemblymember Strickland, and
Assemblymember Runner - what fantastic bipartisan
support!
Please feel
free to review the bill text yourself at www.leginfo.ca.gov.
We are
waiting to see what will happen next with the bill, in terms of committee
assignment and voting. As soon as we learn more from Meredith in Senator
Figueroa's office we will ask for your help in informing your legislators of
the new bill number and asking for their continued support on this issue.
