Subject: Good news! UPDATE: May 31st SB 1785

Good news everyone!  We were informed yesterday that Senator Figueroa will be working to keep the tissue bank licensing and human milk issue alive.  Although Senate Bill 1785 will not be taken any further, the Senator will be gutting and amending another one of her bills to include the language of the former SB 1785.  This process can happen when a legislator has another bill/issue that may not get passed, and decides to replace the language with entirely different content.

There is a tentative new bill number, however the language will not be in print until next week.  The bill is already in the Assembly, so as soon as we have confirmed the change it will be time to contact your Assemblymembers to ask for their support - this will be particularly important now that the bill will have a new number.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.  We realize this is a somewhat confusing process and will be in touch with more information soon!

Thanks as always for your support,

-Andrea and Jennifer
