Setting Guidelines

As medical science advances, as well as the principles of perinatal and neonatal care, so must PAC/LAC’s guidelines evolve and improve, so that they can best meet the needs of the doctors and nurses who care for critically ill babies and their mothers in the community. Health care providers must stay up to date so they can give quality care to patients who’ve entrusted their lives to them.

Twenty-five years ago PAC/LAC began setting these guidelines for neonatal, prenatal and intrapartum treatment by producing a thorough, yet easy-to-use “how to” guidebook designed to help hospitals offering newborn care services develop their own new policies and procedures as they grow. Since most neonatal units are fast-paced and intensive, it’s essential that they have access to important guidelines outlining best practice standards to follow in the event of a crisis or medical event requiring a quick, immediate solution or answer on a moment’s notice.

PAC/LAC has addressed these needs by creating the Neonatal Guidelines of Care and Prenatal and Intrapartum Guidelines of Care - available through its online store.
