Some of what PAC/LAC does relates to the implementation of activities as delineated in the State Department of Health Services (DHS) Regional Perinatal Programs of California (RPPC) contract, including participation in state, local and regional perinatal health committees and taskforces, providing professional education, and serving as a resource and linkage for state compiled Maternal and Child Health databases such as the Perinatal Profiles and California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative.
Other PAC/LAC activities include:

Addressing public policy issues
relevant to the needs of the constituency

Engaging in research and evaluation
services, including program evaluation, data
management, capacity building, needs assessment,
and logic model development for health and
social service organizations

Offering technical assistance
to perinatal and neonatal health care professionals

Performing community surveys
to identify best-practice policies and procedures

Providing professional education
including CEUs for nurses and CMEs for physicians
through sponsorship of educational seminars
and a full day annual conference

Participating in local, regional
and statewide taskforces on topics such as:
family violence, adolescent pregnancy, perinatal
substance use, and breastfeeding.
